Opt-in, separate from sign-in
Signing in with Strava only confirms who you are; it never reads your activities. Importing runs is a separate, explicit step: from Settings → Connected Accounts you choose Connect activities, and Strava asks you to grant activity access. You can do this even if you signed in with email instead of Strava.
What gets imported
Pheidi reads your runs: road, trail, and treadmill/virtual runs. Rides, swims, and other activity types are skipped. Because you grant full activity access, runs you've marked Only You on Strava import too, so nothing silently goes missing. Distance and moving time come straight from the activity; Pheidi converts them to your units.
How a run marks a workout done
When a run lands on a day that has a scheduled run, Pheidi marks that workout complete and fills in your actual distance and time. If you run more than once on the same day, the runs are added together for that workout. A run on a day with no scheduled run, or after you've already logged that day yourself, is recorded as an extra activity and never overwrites what you logged by hand.
When it happens
New runs usually appear within a minute or two of finishing, Strava notifies Pheidi as soon as an activity is saved. As a safety net, Pheidi also re-checks connected accounts every hour, so nothing is missed if a notification is ever delayed. The first time you connect, Pheidi backfills recent runs so your current plan reflects what you've already done.
Edits and deletes
If you delete a run on Strava, Pheidi unwinds it: the workout it had completed reverts to pending (or recomputes from any other runs that day). Your Strava data stays the source of truth.
Privacy and disconnecting
Your Strava access is stored encrypted and is only ever used to read your own activities; Pheidi never posts anything back to Strava, and your Strava data is never shown to anyone but you.
Disconnecting deletes your data. Stop syncing any time from Settings → Connected Accounts: Pheidi revokes its access at Strava and deletes the imported Strava activity data it was holding. The completed workouts already in your plan stay. Those are your own training record. If you signed in with Strava, stopping sync keeps your sign-in working, so you won't be locked out.
We don't hoard Strava data. The raw imported activity records are automatically purged within 7 days. Your plan keeps each completed workout, including the distance and time the run recorded, as part of your training record; those values stay marked as Strava-sourced and are kept out of AI features.
AI assistants never see your Strava numbers. If you connect Pheidi to an AI assistant, it can see your plan and whether a run is done, but the distance and time that came from Strava are withheld; Strava-measured data is kept out of AI features.
Strava activity sync lives inside the Pheidi app, sign in to connect your runs.
